Hi! I’m Kim and I have been associated with AWEsome Numbers for over a year.
I lean towards math and statistics, so an interest in QC naturally followed. During my almost twenty years as a laboratory supervisor I have tried to be on the cutting edge of any and all QC processes I could get my hands on. In the mid 2000’s I was asked to write a quality chapter for a hematology textbook; the massive amount of research required ignited a desire to teach others what I had learned. ASCP asked me to deliver workshops on quality and QC soon after the textbook was published. All the while I knew in the back of my mind that there had to be better ways to manage quality and patient risk- I am happy to say that I found it in Zoe’s software. We met while co-teaching a course on quality and statistics at a major university, and we have been bouncing around ideas ever since. This is the holy grail of QC: a statistics-free way to manage numerical methods and patient risk. This course is aimed at getting the word out that QC can be standardized and patient risk can be significantly reduced without digging through the statistics. It’s a whole new world!
